Madison County School District Communications Director Gene Wright said that yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, October 24, a student at Germantown High School reported a rumor of a potential threat of violence against others in the school community. Wright said administrators immediately initiated an investigation in conjunction with local law enforcement.

School officials and law enforcement, after a full investigation, determined that the rumors were not credible. School went underway as usual Thursday.

“The safety of our students is our top priority in Madison County Schools, and we take every report of potential threats very seriously,” Wright said. “We will always investigate any and all reports to the fullest extent to ensure the safety of our students and school community.”
