Two Ridgeland High School coaches have been arrested on charges of sexual battery, the authorities said.
Mike and Blair Porter, the husband-and-wife team at the helm of the Ridgeland softball program for two years, were arrested this morning by the Madison County Sheriff's Department. They were indicted by a Madison County grand jury in June over an illicit affair with a student.
Ridgeland High Director of Athletics Kenny Burton declined to comment on the matter, but did confirm that former RHS baseball pitching coach Gerald Ray would handle softball coaching duties going forward.
