St. Joe earned a decisive win over local rival St. Andrew’s (1-3) in a 29-7 showdown in Ridgeland last Friday.

St. Andrew’s managed to return a fumble for a touchdown early but a stout Bruins defense kept them sputtering for the rest of the night. The Bruins' relentless air attack would steadily hang points on the board throughout the night.

Trey Frierson posted two receiving touchdowns and punched in a two-point conversion in the contest. Frierson recorded seven receptions for 93 yards, the longest of which was 32 yards.

Kiland Harrison, a junior, had three receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown. His longest catch was for 62 yards.

Quarterback Reed Collins completed 11 of 20 passes for 195 yards.

Junior Chandler Thornhill took the ball 21 times and translated that to 116 yards, the longest of which was 48 yards.

The Bruins' defense intercepted four of junior Holland Townes' 28 attempted passes. He completed eight passes for 107 yards for the Saints.

The Bruins kept the saints to 187 yards of total offense compared to the Bruins' 422.

St. Andrew’s got a lot of hands on the ball including Lleyton Carr, a sophomore, who led the Saints rushing with 15 carries for 67 yards.

St. Joseph prepares to head to Flowood to face Jackson Prep this weekend.

Jackson Prep remains undefeated as they beat the breaks off Pillow academy (1-3) in a 49-0 thrashing last week.

St. Andrew’s prepares to travel to Mize High School (1-3) who is coming off a 27-13 loss from Stringer High School.
