JACKSON - Children's of Mississippi and Parents & Kids Magazine are proud to host Fitness Fest, an interactive and educational event where Mississippi families can participate in fun activities to improve their fitness and health choices. The event is scheduled for Saturday, July 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Mississippi Trade Mart.
June's hot! July's hotter! If the word "move" sounds like misery to you, come join us at the Fitness Fest event for the whole family!
In air conditioned splendor we will get your whole family moving around and show you how cool it is to be fit.
Activities will include the one-mile indoor fitness trail, where your kids can walk, jump, dance, and play their way to an hour of easy aerobic fun.
Parents and kids will enjoy learning about nutrition, health and fitness from local experts. From health screenings to weight loss, parents will find answers to many of today's family health dilemmas.
Ed Said, Mississippi Public Broadcasting's puppet with a healthy-living message, will teach kids to eat healthy foods and exercise through songs.
Ed Said's home base is EdSaid.org, where children, parents and educators can view his webisodes, music videos and lesson plans for the classroom.
Among the many attractions are:
Interactive kid-sized grocery store
One mile walking track
Variety of sports activities
Games of all kinds
Zumba, Yoga, Pilates
Live music, comedy, dancing & singing
