Gordon Phillips Stanhope of Madison passed away on Monday, October 29. Born in 1923 to Robert and Janice Stanhope in Los Angeles, CA, Gordon grew up in Milwaukee, WI. After earning a B.S. in electrical engineering, he joined the U.S. Air Corps Reserves. Through his work, he enjoyed the opportunity to travel, obtained a patent on an X-ray tube, and was an early contributor to the invention of the medical CAT scanner. He had four children with his first wife, Lois Sitton. 

He was predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Minnie Ruth; and two children, David and Carolyn (Wayne). He is survived by his sons Richard and Robert; two step-children Wanda Sturm (Mike) and Alan Jones (Colleen); five grandchildren Brian (Kelli), Emily, Benjamin, Meredith and Jacob; and great-grandchildren Eliana, Miller, and Eva.
