The Madison Ridgeland Youth Softball Club, Inc. and the MS Motion Fast Pitch Organization are proud to announce that Haylie Best has been selected to play on the Scout-Softball All-American Team. She will compete Aug. 8-10 in Albuquerque, N.M. Haylie participated in a regional Scout-Softball showcase event at the University of Central Arkansas on April 19, 2014 where she was one of five selected to attend the National Showcase at Kennesaw State University in Atlanta on June 9.
Several thousand girls from across the country competed in regional events this spring and 240 were selected to compete in one of the four national events (Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago and Orange County, Calif.).
From that highly competitive group only 48 players were selected to play on the All-American Teams. Haylie was chosen as one of these players and will showcase her softball talent for three days in Albuquerque.
Haylie is the daughter of Jim and Debbie Best and lives in Ridgeland alone
with her sisters, Haydon and Ashley. She will be a sophomore this coming school year at Madison Ridgeland Academy where she has been on the varsity team since seventh grade.
She also competes with her tournament team, Motion99/Team DeMarini, throughout the year and has played in the Madison Ridgeland Youth Softball Club for the past eight years. We are extremely proud of Haylie's accomplishment to be named to the All-American Team. She is the only player from Mississippi that was selected and we know she will represent us well.
