3/12/2010 11:00:00 AM Railroad work to close lane of traffic in Madison
Motorist are asked to avoid traveling on Main Street near the railroad tracks in downtown Madison from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning Tuesday March 16 through Wednesday March 17.
Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) announced Friday they will be closing parts of Mississippi 463 at the railroad crossing to one lane of traffic while crews make cross tie replacements.
Motorists are advised to use the alternate route, which is Grandview Avenue in front of the Madison Wal-Mart to Madison Avenue. MDOT Rail Enforcement Officers and Madison Police Department will be on the scene to direct traffic.
MDOT regrets any inconveniences this necessary closure may cause.
