3/18/2010 2:00:00 PM Mosque issue comes back before Supervisors Monday
MADISON - The Mississippi Muslim Association will appear before the Madison County Board of Supervisors again Monday seeking approval to build a mosque just north of the city.
The issue has been discussed multiple times by the board, but has been tabled as they continue to wait on confirmation that the site has appropriate water and sewer.
The group has been approved for an on-site septic system after they failed to get sewer service from the city of Madison, but the capacity of the building and the size of the septic system is still being questioned.
They also claim to have access to water through the Bear Creek Water Association, but have yet to receive the appropriate documentation.
The issue is once again on the Supervisors' March 22 agenda released on Thursday with the heading "Verification of Utilities for a Public/Quasi Public Facility."
The meeting begins at 9 a.m. at the Madison County Courthouse in Canton.
