As local softball and baseball teams start to wrap up the regular season, many hope to secure sports at the top of the region and district standings.

 

MRA baseball took two out of three games from Jackson Academy and won the series opener against Hartfield Academy to continue their winning ways and move to 16-11 on the season. The Patriots will finish the series against Hartfield on Thursday and Friday. 

 

St. Joseph baseball was swept by Presbyterian Christian and lost 6-5 in the series opener to Jackson Academy, falling to 9-15 on the season. The Bruins will finish their series against Jackson Academy with a home doubleheader on Thursday.

 

Jackson Prep baseball was swept by Hartfield Academy and lost 12-2 to Presbyterian Christian, falling to 16-11-1 on the year. The Patriots will finish their series with PCS with a home doubleheader on Friday.

 

Jackson Academy baseball took one of three in a series with MRA and defeated St. Joseph 6-5, moving to 16-9 on the year. The Raiders will finish their series against St. Joseph with a road doubleheader on Thursday. 

 

Tri-County Academy baseball kept it rolling with a series sweep over Clinton Christian Academy and a 4-2 series opening win over Riverfield Academy, improving to 21-3 on the year. The Rebels have won 19 games in a row and have not lost since February 17th. They will finish their series with Riverfield with a home doubleheader on Friday.

 

Canton Academy baseball took two out of three games from Winston Academy last to wrap up the regular season. The Panthers are 13-13 and will shift their focus to the MAIS 4A North tournament, where they will play the winner of Marshall and Greenville St. Joseph. 

 

Madison Central baseball swept a two-game series over Germantown and defeated West Marion 13-2, but fell 14-4 to Northwest Rankin, moving to 18-6 on the season. The Jaguars will finish the regular season with a home matchup against Terry on Friday.

 

Madison Central softball split a doubleheader with Purvis and North Pike, before defeating Germantown 3-2, improving to 12-10-1 on the season. The Lady Jaguars will finish the regular season with a region matchup against Starkville on Thursday.

 

Germantown baseball was swept by Madison Central, but bounced back with a 10-8 win over Seminary and 12-0 win over Terry, moving to 13-13 on the season. The Mavericks will play a doubleheader against West Jones and Grenada on Thursday.

 

Germantown softball split region matchups, defeating Starkville and falling to Madison Central, moving to 16-8 on the year. The Lady Mavericks will finish the regular season at Florence on Friday. 

 

Ridgeland baseball was swept by Warren Central, defeated Pearl 5-3, and fell 2-1 to Florence over the last week, moving to 9-11 on the season. The Titans will finish the regular season with a road matchup against Pearl on Saturday. 

 

Ridgeland softball finished the regular season with a region loss to Warren Central and two region losses to Neshoba Central, falling to 4-13 on the season. The Lady Titans will now shift their focus to the Region 2-6A tournament. 

 

Canton baseball picked up a trio of region wins, one over Gentry and two over Yazoo City, improving to 10-4 on the season. The Tigers will finish the regular season with a road region game against Cleveland Central on Thursday. 

 

Canton softball lost a pair of region games against Yazoo City and Greenville to round out the regular season, falling to 2-5 on the season. 

 

St. Andrew’s baseball picked up a region sweep over Raleigh, but fell to Clinton and Warren Central, moving to 19-8 on the season. The Saints will finish the regular season against Loyd Star on Thursday and Saturday.

 

St. Andrew’s softball was swept by Terry, falling to 9-26 to round out the regular season.
