Body found across from Crafts Center

Ridgeland authorities are investigating a dead body found this morning across Rice Road from the Crafts Center, Police Chief Brian Myers said.

The corpse of a male was found around 10 a.m. just off of Rice Road across from the Bill Waller Crafts Center, according to Myers. Myers said a surveyor found the body.

Myers said he had few additional details at this time as investigators were gathering evidence.

“It looks like it has been there for quite a while,” Myers said.

Myers said he hoped to make more details available as early as this afternoon.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the matter.
