Drugs, gun seized after stop
GLUCKSTADT — A Pickens man was arrested here after he was pulled over with multi-colored pills, cocaine, and a firearm late last month.
The man, Dexter Deon Oliver, 40, was arrested and charged with trafficking of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and disorderly conduct, Gluckstadt Police Chief Barry Hale said.
Hale said Oliver was also cited for multiple traffic violations.
Hale said Gluckstadt is a safer community thanks to efforts from Gluckstadt police officers.
“I want to commend our officers for their continued dedication and hard work in keeping dangerous narcotics off our streets and out of our schools and homes,” Oliver.
GPD officer first encountered Oliver during a traffic stop on April 22, on Industrial Drive North near Old Jackson Road.
During the stop, officers discovered several multi-colored pills, cocaine, and a firearm in Oliver’s possession.
Oliver appeared in Gluckstadt Municipal Court the following day and was released on a $300,000 bond.
