Gluckstadt Police arrest man with stolen SUV

GLUCKSTADT — A man accused of stealing an SUV in Jackson was arrested in the stolen vehicle on I-55 here earlier this month.
The man, Markea Cartez Simmons, 29, was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, and driving under a suspended license, according to Gluckstadt Police Chief Barry Hale.
“More charges are forthcoming,” Hale said.
On Dec, 6, around 9:40 a.m., GPD received a tip that a stolen red GMC Yukon was traveling northbound on I-55.
Hale said the vehicle was reported stolen out of Jackson. Simmons was stopped and arrested near the Gluckstadt exit.
