Mac Haik is one step closer to a new 17,672 square-foot facility to service larger trucks following recent site plan approval by the Planning and Zoning Commission.

The building will go at the north end of their property off of Autobahn Loop. The project will be handled by Peoples Construction.

The car dealer aims to build a facility that will include maintenance bays, a car wash, and a parts warehouse for large trucks.

A Mac Haik representative told the commission it would accommodate trucks larger than one ton like the Ram 3500.

Planning and zoning had previously approved the project with requests that included landscaping and upkeep of a berm on the I-55 side of the property.

In addition to the berm, the Mac Haik representative said the building was about two-thirds the size of the one originally approved.

“It is the same idea, just a little bit smaller,” the representative said.
