Trick-or-treating dates, times set throughout Madison County

Posted

Madison, Canton and Flora are moving trick-or-treating to Saturday, Oct. 30, while Ridgeland is sticking with the 31st.

Gluckstadt officials are leaving it up to individual neighborhood homeowners associations to set a date for trick or treating.

Madison

Officials in Madison said they changed the date of trick-or-treating to Saturday because people attend church on Sunday. However, officials said individual neighborhood organizations can make their own decisions.

Flora

Flora officials said the city is also moving trick-or-treating to Saturday not only because of Sunday church services but also because the 11th Annual Flora Car Show will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, with silent auctions, hospitality tents, vendors and games for the children. The car show will be held in downtown Flora at 4849 Main Street.

City officials did not discuss the date for trick-or-treating and suggested people follow the times designated by individual neighborhood associations.

Ridgeland

Ridgeland city officials decided to stick to the tradition of trick-or-treating on Oct. 31, but the city also is holding a community Trunk or Treat at Freedom Ridge Park from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 28.

For more information about Oct. 28’s Trunk-or-Treat, visit the Ridgeland Parks and Recreation Facebook page or call 601-853-2011 for volunteer information.

Canton

Canton officials voted in the Mayor and Board of Aldermen's Oct. 19 to designate Saturday, Oct. 30, for trick-or-treating but the city also is holding a community Trunk-or-Treat event from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, at the Canton Community Center.
