Cody Zumbro said he is honored and humbled to be chosen as the next principal of Germantown High School and is excited to serve the students and family of the rapidly growing community.

“I hope to continue the standard of excellence created by Mr. Poore and Dr. Quick,” Zumbro said.

Madison County Schools Superintendent Charlotte Seals said Zumbro has shown his skills as a dedicated leader.

“We are excited for Mr. Zumbro to bring his enthusiasm to Germantown High School and build upon the Mavericks’ legacy of excellence to academics, arts, and athletics,” Seals said.

Zumbro is bringing 21 years of experience as an educator to his new role, including serving as a classroom teacher, head coach, and lead administrator. He began his career in 2001 as head baseball coach at Terry High School, followed by fourteen years of serving as a teacher and coach at Clinton High School.

In 2016, Zumbro joined Madison County Schools as an assistant principal at Ridgeland High School, where he was promoted to interim lead principal in 2019 before being named lead principal at the Madison Career and Technical Center (MCTC). As principal of MCTC, Mr. Zumbro oversaw the career and technical programs offered at MCTC to all high school students in Madison County Schools.

He and his wife Kylie have four children: Zoie, Brody, Zhane, and Cy.

Zumbro will begin his new role this summer following the transition of current GHS principal, Dr. Wesley Quick, to the role of director of student affairs of Madison County Schools.
