MADISON — A new antiques and gift shop opened here last week with a ribbon-cutting that brought city officials and other business owners.

At the opening of LaBelle Interiors, Mayor Mary Hawkins-Butler called the shop “delightful.”

She said it reminded her of a shop she owned when she was a teenager across the street from Madison City Hall. She would look across the street and aspire to run for mayor.

LaBelle Interiors is located at 984 Highway 51. Owners Bill and Mary Margaret Buchanan and Frankie and Sarah Ellis hosted city officials and others for a ribbon cutting on Thursday, May 9.

“We are excited to be in Madison,” Bill Buchanan said.

They offer a variety of new and antique furniture, accessories and locally made wall art as well as a selection of antique and contemporary rugs from several vendors.

“I hope people come by and see what we have,” he said. “We are right next to the Post Office.”
