MRA announces capital campaign

On Tuesday, Madison-Ridgeland Academy announced the community phase of “Enhancing the Experience: A Campaign for MRA” seeking to raise $5,480,000 to advance the school’s mission of teaching the mind, reaching the heart, and inspiring servant leaders who will impact the world for Jesus Christ.

Four projects have been selected to impact MRA’s students, faculty, and families through facility upgrades, technology advancements, and academic and extracurricular enhancements.

"With Enhancing the Experience, we desire to provide avenues for our students to experience enriched academic programs and expanded opportunities to serve and lead,” said Alan Hart, Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

Academic classrooms have been upgraded across the elementary and high school divisions, and a new Counseling Center and meeting space for student leadership have been created as a result of early support of the campaign. Additionally, a new BioMedical Sciences laboratory and academic program were added this fall, with more academic advancements to come.

The campaign's next phase will focus on building a new tennis complex and golf practice facility, a performing arts rehearsal hall, and the Rawlings Hall Enrichment Center in the kindergarten.

Neil and Avery Forbes, Campaign Co-Chairs, announced the progress of over $4,000,000 since the campaign quietly began in the fall of 2023. “This campaign is giving the students better options for academic pursuits and extracurricular interests. It was the school’s vision, and the commitment of the faculty and administration to provide the students with an exceptional education with a Christian worldview that made it easy for us to get involved with the campaign. The commitment of the faculty, administration, and families of MRA towards this campaign has been both encouraging and humbling.”

“We believe that each student has unique God-given talents and abilities, and we are committed to helping students discover and explore those gifts to their fullest potential.” Termie Land, Head of School.

Land also announced a $1 Million matching gift that has been pledged to the campaign: “It is exciting to see what the MRA family can do when we all come together. I encourage the extended MRA Family to take advantage of this opportunity to double their impact in supporting Enhancing the Experience and make a lasting impact on the lives of our students.”

The school announced the campaign progress and matching gift in a public announcement event on March 5 celebrating the beginning of construction on the tennis complex.
