Marion Lorraine Massey

On Wednesday, April 6, 2022, Marion Lorraine Massey, 88, of Madison, passed away at The Orchard.  

Marion was born on August 1, 1933, in Pelahatchie, to L.C. and Ima Thames. She graduated from Canton High School and then attended Hinds Community College in Raymond, where she was a Hi-Stepper. 

On November 30, 1952, Marion married William Allen Massey, Sr. Together they raised two sons, William Allen, Jr., and Franck Wyatt.  She retired from St. Andrew’s Episcopal Lower School, where she worked as a secretary.  Marion was also a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Madison. In her spare time, she was an avid reader and was known for her cooking and for her love of people.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Bill, and her oldest son Allen. She is survived by her son Franck; her grandsons Bo (Alethea), Josh (Jessica), and Spence (Trudie); and her great-grandchildren Caitlyn, Ben, Bailey, and Brady. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Natchez Trace Cemetery in Madison.
