Ronald Wayne Little of Ridgeland, MS passed away on March 27,2024 at the age of 91. He was a pilot for over 47 years and served as chief pilot for Gov. Bill Waller, Gov. Cliff Finch and Bessemer Flying Service. He was also a corporate pilot for Bill’s Dollar Stores and Deposit Guaranty National Bank. Ron served as an Honorary Madison County Deputy Sheriff from 1972-75 and was an Honorary member of the MS Highway Patrol. 

A veteran naval engineer who served during the Korean conflict from 1952-1956, he authored the book “Soaring with the Eagles” which highlights his flying career. 

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Shirley Little and his children Becky Little of Ridgeland, MS, Woody and Melanie Nance of Madison, MS, Cindy and Alan Reyes-Guerra of Birmingham, AL, Bill Nance of Grenada, MS, Lisa and Jason Walker of Ridgeland, MS and Scott and Cindi Nance of Madison, MS. 

He is also survived by his grandchildren Kerri and Curtis Utroska of Flora, MS, Ashleigh and Steven Mooney of Summerdale, AL, Dusty and Nicole Nance of Flora, MS, Dustin and Rachel Ratliff of Madison, MS, Colin and Scott Reyes-Guerra of Birmingham, AL, Cole Nance of Austin, TX, and Anna Scott Nance of Madison, MS along with 11 great grandchildren and his nieces and nephews. 

Preceded in death by parents Alfred and Mildred Little, brothers Herbert Little, AW Little and David Little. Sebrell Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Funeral services were held on March 29 at First Ridgeland Baptist Church.
