Krestina “Kresty” Suzanne Banck departed this earth for her heavenly home on May 20, 2024, following a courageous battle with cancer. 

On Thursday, May 23, 2024, Lois Dowdle Hawkins (87) left this world to be with her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.  Lois was born on April 20, 1937, in Canton, MS, to Robert Amos and Myrtis Dees Dowdle. 

Alan deCyale Palmore departed his earthly life April 12, 2024. His presence will always remain close to his family, friends, and those he touched in our community.

Tommy peacefully passed away at home on May 6th, surrounded by his family. 

Otilia Mayela Salas Sebuktekin of Madison was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, on November 12, 1958, the second child of Cristina Reyes de Salas and Kermith Salas. 

Lee Alex Breeland, Jr. departed this earthly life to meet his Savior on the morning of April 26, 2024.

Terry Michael Allen, better known as “Grumps”, slid right on out to his eternal home late Saturday night, April 27th, in his home in Canton, Mississippi, at the age of 62.  

Robbie Bratcher Cross was born on March 3, 1930, in Pelahatchie, Mississippi, to Gaines and Lozine Stegall. 

Joseph Leray McNamara, known as Ray, was born on January 14, 1947, in Greenville, MS, and peacefully passed on March 23, 2024. Ray was a man of constant motion; his life was an adventure from his youth in Seoul, Korea, to climbing Mt. Fuji as an Eagle Scout. 

Ronald Wayne Little of Ridgeland, MS passed away on March 27,2024 at the age of 91. He was a pilot for over 47 years and served as chief pilot for Gov. Bill Waller, Gov. Cliff Finch and Bessemer Flying Service. He was also a corporate pilot for Bill’s Dollar Stores and Deposit Guaranty National Bank. Ron served as an Honorary Madison County Deputy Sheriff from 1972-75 and was an Honorary member of the MS Highway Patrol. 

Wallace Owen Cook died March 26, 2024, at St. Dominic’s Hospital after a sudden medical emergency. Owen was born in Holly Bluff, MS, and moved with his family to his hometown of Flora, MS when in the fourth grade. 

Louis Buckner Gideon (“Bucky”) was born November 15, 1932, in Water Valley, MS. to William Cyril Gideon and Lucille Buckner Gideon. He resided in Lambert until college.

Bettye Smith Pierce passed away peacefully on March 16, 2024 at St. Catherine's Village where she and her husband Jim of 70 years had been residents since November 2014. 

Sadie Baber Kirk, age 94, of Madison, Mississippi went to be with the Lord on March 19, 2024. 

Thomas Mark Bland passed away at his home on March 16, 2024, in Madison, MS. 

Mr. Billy D. Johns, aged 88, peacefully passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024, attended by his sons at St. Dominic Hospital following a recent stroke and a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Elbert Riley Hilliard, director emeritus, Mississippi Department of Archives and History (MDAH), departed his earthly life March 17, 2024.

On March 7, 2024, we lost our beloved husband, dad, grandfather (a/k/a Pop), friend and one person you could always count on. 

Patsy L. Boswell, 86, of Madison, died March 7, 2024, in Brookhaven. Services were held March 13, 2024 at Galloway Memorial United Methodist Church.
